Bathinda (Sachi Kalam Bureau) : Under the DBT STAR College Scheme, Department of Physics, DAV College Bathinda organized a 3-day workshop from 22nd February to 24th February on “Electronics Projects”. The workshop was concluded with a lecture on career guidance for science students. The resource person for the workshop was Mr. Sukhvinder Singh, Coordinator, NIERT.
He gave hands on practical training to students for making electronics projects like rain dew detector, energy saver, sensitive remote control tester, flashing break-light, control of electric appliance by remote and solar powered mobile charger. All the student actively participated and made projects themselves. Mr. Singh also taught the students basic skills in dealing with electronics in various appliances.
On the concluding day of the workshop students were enlightened with various career prospects after graduation by Dr. Felix Bast, Associate Professor, Central University of Punjab. His talk was on the topic “What to do after B.Sc.? Opportunities in higher education and foreign scholarships.” The lecture was concluded with an interactive session, where the students clarified their doubts on a range of subjects.
This programme of workshop and talk were part of week long national science day celebrations being held in the college. It was attended by all the science students and faculty members of the college and also by faculty and students of other institutions via youtube livestream. The function was graced by the presence of officiating Principal Shri Sandeep Bhatia and Registrar of the college Dr. Kusum Gupta.
