On the basis of representation filed by Panditrao Dharenavar, Shipra Bansal, Chairperson, Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights has issued advisory to organizers and singer Diljit Dosanjh for not singing PATIALA PEGG , 5 TARA THEKE and CASE even with twisted words on 14th December 2024 in Chandigarh. CCPCR has clearly mentioned that these songs affect the children of impressionable age.
Advisory has categorically mentioned to not to invite the children on stage during Live show where peak sound pressure level is above 120db which is harmful for children
In the advisory, CCPCR has asked organizers to ensure below 25 years youngsters are not served Alcohol which is punishable under JJ Act and other provisions of Law.
Earlier in the month of November, Panditrao, assistant professor of Sociology from Chandigarh had given complaint against singer Diljit Dosanjh on which District Child welfare officer , Telangana also had issued Notice for not using children on stage and not to sing alcohol, drugs and violence promoting songs. The singer Diljit Dosanjh followed the notice and did not use children on stage, however he twisted the words and sang songs titled Patiala Pegg, 5 Tara Theeke and Case. Panditrao also had given complaint against Karan Aujla for not singing Chitta Kurta, Adhiya, Alcohol, Badhook and Few Days. Karan Aujla did not sing these songs on 7th December 2024.
Panditrao has said that he is sure singer Diljit Dosanjh will follow the advisory in the larger interest of the children
