Bathinda (Sachi Kalam Bureau) : For academic excellence, two prestigious institutions of the Malwa region, DAV College, Bathinda, and Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University, Bathinda (MRSPTU), signed a Memorandum of Academic Support (MoAS) on 16th March 2021. The MoAS complies with one of the DBT Star Scheme's objectives to link with neighbouring institutions to promote cooperation between the institutions in the field of education, research, and development.
Parveen Kumar (Principal, Officiating), along with Sh. Aman Malhotra (Convener, MoU Committee) and Dr. Kulwinder Singh Mann (Coordinator, DBT Star College Scheme) visited the Dean's Office, Academic Affairs, MRSPTU, Bathinda in this regard.
This MoAS has been signed by a committee comprising of Dr. Gurinderpal Singh Brar, Registrar MRSPTU, Bathinda, Dr. Savina Bansal, Dean Academic Affairs, MRSPTU, Bathinda, Sh. Parveen Kumar Garg, Principal (Offg.), DAV College Bathinda, and Dr. K. K. Nohria, Chairman, LMC, DAV College Bathinda.
This linkage aimed to promote innovation, research, and quality teaching in varied disciplines; enhance academic interchange between the two institutions like sharing facilities of library/labs as per the concerned institute's norms. The faculty and research scholars of both the institutions will be jointly able to organize seminars, conferences, workshops, thereby acquaint themselves with the recent research domains. The committee opined that it would also improve the admission scenario. The young stakeholders will benefit from the expert guidance to pursue higher studies and quality research.
Principal, Sh. Garg appreciated the cooperation of Prof. (Dr.) Buta Singh Sidhu, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Savina Bansal, and Dr. Sandeep Kansal, Director IQAC, MRSPTU, for their constructive role in making this a successful venture. He said that the MRSPTU, Bathinda is a premier technical institute of the Govt. of Punjab, which has been set up to address the spontaneous upswing in demand for quality of technical education. He further added that this cooperation would broaden the students' horizons and ameliorate the faculty of both institutions' knowledge repository.
